Some people have called the Panasonic Viera TC-P50G10 a giant among all plasma TVs available in the market. While this perception has changed over time, the TV set still remains a hot buy in many retail stores. Although almost a year old, the sales of the G10 series are still going strong.

The G10 series from Panasonic undoubtedly had the best picture quality among all plasma TVs released in 1999 according to some reports. The Panasonic Viera TC-P50G10 does not have a glass frame look but does have a thinner frame near the edge of the screen. This gives it a unique design, compared to the V10 series of Panasonic. Another unique factor is that it has a circular stand, which makes it suitable to be kept on a table and serves well if you do not want to hang it on the wall.

A major difference between Panasonic and others is that Panasonic offers far fewer picture adjustments compared to the rest. The basics such as brightness, contrast and sharpness are included although newer features like screen resolution may leave much to be desired.

An important point worth noting is that many users of this TV set have reported that over time the plasma from this TV may lose its black level performance considerably over a period of time. The company admits to this problem although it still says that the performance of the TV is good. The buyer therefore is advised to check facts about this matter before deciding to buy this TV set.
